Hello,
I like yummyFTP very much and use it all the time. Congratulations to this great piece of software.
In day-to-day work I have often the situation, that customers want to send me a large file.
On one hand I don't like to get e-mails with large files attached (that is stupid), on the other side, e-mail accounts are often limited for bandwidth reason. What I can understand.
So I looked for a solution to give my customers an "easy" access to an FTP-Share on my server.
In most cases it is important that the way, they transfer data to my FTP-Account, is seamless and easy integrated into their desktop environment. So the best way would be, that I could create a runtime app from yummyFTP for a certain ftp-account, with minimal menus and functions - and send it them for use on their platform. If this runtime-client would be able to run on mac's as well as on windows, this would be a killer-app.
All solutions I know, Interarchie Alias, cPanel Secure Webdisk, .mac Account, etc. are in any way restricted and I don't want to bother my clients with buying software, just to sending me a big file.
Do you think, this would be possible to integrate into yummyFTP one time? I would pay for a master - solution with this feature a much higher price than for a standard FTP-Client.
Best regards Gordian

Secure FTP Alias is exactly what you're looking for. Check it out

Not only that, but you can specify a path as well. Each client can have their unique FTP Alias that goes to THEIR folder.
WAY cool feature!

No, mimic wants it to run on Windows as well as Macs. Something I requested some time ago, but that's a big ask I suppose ... ! It would certainly be a fantastic solution, as expecting all one's clients to have Macs is just not reasonable.

Yes, spacific is right - I missed that requirement.
Any Windows programmers out there who might be interested in some kind of partnership/deal? A quick Google reveals plenty of example FTP and SFTP client code for Windows, so it would probably be trivial for a Windows programmer to put something together. I guess I could try myself, but ... well, it's Windows! Blech!!

Sorry, as you might have guessed I automatically censor any links as an anti-spam measure. Sorry!
Just search for DropUpLoad by Rankspirit in Google to see what Marino means.
