Topic: Problems syncing files with umlaut (Read 439 times)

1. A Problem: I syncronize with option "Remove orphaned files" First synconisation with empty target folder on my Mac works good. Second syncronisation stops with error reason: cannot delete Düllberg1_1.jpg
So, Yummy does not recognize the previously synced file. And is not able to delete it. Thatīs not good for scheduled backups that should run in background.
2. A Question: When I sync and I have several files marked with "ignore during syncing" (donīt know how this is named in the english version), I think itīs logical, that those files are also ignored by the "delete orphaned files" option. They are not orphaned, just excluded from syncing.

I will investigate and get back to you. It's possible these are both the result of a bug I fixed today. If so, I will post a beta update asap.

Still the same problem with 1.8.2b3:
First sync to an empty folder works, second test-sync to the same folder stops with error (cannot delete the same previously, unchanged synced file with Umlaut).

Did you change any of the file name encoding settings? There is:
1. the Encoding menu The default setting is UTF-8
2. the 'Translate' checkbox The default setting is off. When enabled, it uses Normalization Form C. This applies only to UTF-8 encoding Both these settings are in the Server Options panel of the Preferences for all connections, and in the Advanced Options tab of the Bookmark editor for your Bookmark to have a per-Bookmark overriding setting.
If any of these settings is not the default, please try resetting to default and then start over - the server files must be deleted as the file name encoding may now differ from those on your Mac.
