Hello. I use apple-O a lot to open a file in my fav editor within Yummy. Mostly that works, but every now and then I get the message 'The application can't be found.' and simultaniously in the Finder the error 'The operation can't be completed (error code -43)' pops up. Very annoying as I have to click away two popups and then open my file with the mouse by right-click>edit with. Any idea what causes this? Usually after restarting Yummy it is solved, but then it will come back within an hour or so. I'm using version 1.8.1 and Leopard 10.6.2. My editor is SubEthaEdit. Thanks.

Interesting ...
Yummy itself displays no messages for this function, so both messages are coming from Finder itself.
All Yummy does is send an 'Open' message containing the file reference to Finder. Clearly that file reference is valid, and Yummy is sending a 'good' Open message, since the Edit With function works in exactly the same way, except the preferred editor app is sent the message (SubEthaEdit in this case) rather than Finder, and SubEthaEdit isn't complaining...
I haven't been able to reproduce this so far, but when it happens to you again, what happens if you refresh the Mac listing then try again? And can you double click the file in Finder and have it open correctly?

Hi. When the error happens, double-clicking in the finder works fine, also refreshing the Mac listing doesn't solve it. But opening another file works, and then back to the file that generated the error is fine again. Robert

Hmm, ok that sounds like a clue I'll investigate. If you find any further info, please post it. Thanks!

It's possible this is already fixed by a bug elsewhere that I've fixed in 1.8.2b4 - coming out any day now
Please try the beta when it's released and let me know.

I will post in the Announcements section. Also, if you un-check 'Ignore betas' in the Software Update panel of the Preferences, Check For Updates will notify you and give the option to download and install automatically.
