For remote editing of server files, Yummy FTP couldn't be more ideal. It has built-in support for BBEdit, BBEdit Lite, TextWrangler, SubEthaEdit and PageSpinner as external editors. But, if your preferred editor isn't listed.. just add it!

Even better, Yummy FTP provides the ability to control when updated files get sent back to the server and also allows the creation of a new empty file on the server to then be edited immediately.
