This has now been fixed and will be included in an update as soon as possible. The bug is Intel-specific and would occur if you had made additions or alterations to the Suffix Mapping table. Thanks to tu11ym0n for his patience

Yummy Software / General / Re: FTP Watcher to watch for ad hoc activity on the seerver?

I don't see why the sync would be impractical. It only needs to compare the Mac and Server directories once every hour, for example, and this generates very little traffic if nothing needs to be transferred. The beauty of this solution is that it can all happen automatically, so long as Yummy FTP is running. Ok, it won't be triggered automatically at the instant a new image is available, but it should suffice, even if it does nothing for a few days.
Remote zipping & unzipping is not yet implemented in Yummy FTP, that is correct. However this cannot be achieved via FTP - Yummy FTP will need to log into the server machine as if it were a normal user, via SSH for example, and then issue the required Terminal commands. So if you only have FTP access to your server, this feature will not be available to you.
There is no built-in functionality to delete server files after downloading them. I don't think any other FTP client offers this either. This sounds like a job for an AppleScript - sync every hour then delete all server files. This could be done with Yummy.

FTP Watcher is designed to watch a folder on your Mac for activity. It will not work with a folder on the server, I'm afraid, although certainly it's a reasonable feature request That said, it might be worthwhile investigating the use of a Scheduled Synchronization, using the Update Mac setting. You could set it to download new/changed files every five minutes. Obviously this might result in downloading a partially written file from the server, but when the next Sync runs Yummy would see that the file was changed on the server and replace the partial file on your Mac with the fully written one. How does this sound? I already have an item on my To Do list which would enable Yummy to .zip files before uploading them, but .zipping before downloading is not. Is that what you meant?

tu11ym0n - Thanks for the additional information, and the Suffix Mapping file you sent me via email. I'll be looking into this today - sorry for the delay.
paulc - That's interesting about the prefs issues, but I don't think it applies here. I think the bug you're referring to affects the API built into OS X for saving preferences - that API isn't used for the Suffix Mapping table file. Thanks for raising it as a possible cause, though.

I replied to Dean via email.
As I understand it, he was trying to drag from GoLive into Yummy FTP's server listing to create an http link. Unfortunately, that's not how GoLive's 'point & shoot' feature has been designed to work.

Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Re: Colour labelling of files/folders?

Sure I could - there would have to a list of these settings per server, of course, and I'd have to keep a track of which labeled items get deleted or renamed. This would mostly work, but there would be edge cases where the data would get out of sync - for example a labeled item gets deleted by the server administrator, or another user... your local 'remembered' setting will stick around and never get deleted. This obviously leaves a mess behind, but worse, if a new folder was created with the same name and in the same location then it would take on the label color... strange behavior I would say. I suppose I could work around that with some additional identifier, but it serves to illustrate my point that this feature implementation could get quite messy. Bookmarks, on the other hand, are completely under the control of the user - there is no automatic housekeeping that needs to be performed.
Let me think about it some more. Maybe it's not as bad as it seems.
Any other votes for this feature?

There is no such key combination, so that's not it. I was more thinking along the lines of some specific chain of events that results in the behavior, although I appreciate that you've got better things to do than keep track of what you've been doing in Yummy FTP all day...
I'll have to wait until it happens again to you, but one thing to note is that the Suffix Mapping file I asked for will only be present in the Preferences folder if you have changed one or more of the Suffix Mapping entries. If you haven't then the file will be located inside the Yummy FTP package itself - it's this file which is used to reset to defaults. So, I assume that at some point you are changing/adding/removing the Suffix Mapping table. Correct?

Well, I didn't implement server listing colour labelling. Only the Mac listing labels, as set in the Finder, are respected. I'm not sure how it would work on the server, since the label data obviously can't be stored there. Storing that information locally seems unwieldy too. Perhaps if you maintain the labels on your Mac, you could use DualBrowse to open the correct server folder for you? This won't help for files, though, apart from when you're using Column view.

Really strange. I did take a look at this area, but I found nothing wrong. I haven't been able to reproduce it, nor have I had other reports of such behavior. Is there something you might be doing that triggers the problem, perhaps?
Does the problem disappear when you next launch Yummy FTP?
When it next happens, quit Yummy FTP then send me the Suffix Mapping file that is located in the Yummy FTP preferences folder. Maybe it will give me a clue.
Thanks!
