1  Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Losing a transferred file on the desktop on: November 02, 2006, 11:41:00 PM
When you drag a file from the remote browser to the desktop, it gets transferred but appears on the desktop in the default position (at the right of the screen).  It would be nice if it appeared at the position to which it was dragged. It is frustrating to drag a file to a visible region of the desktop only for it to get lost under several open windows.  I presume this is easily fixed ( ) -- web browsers allow you to drag images to precise positions on the desktop, so it can certainly be done. Just a matter of setting certain Finder info. Thanks.

Just hit Apple-D (for duplicate) which is also finder-like, and shorter.

Works beautifully. Thanks.

EXCEPT!!  Because of the optional change to the action of the "Return" key (see other thread), when I rename a file and then press Return the file opens. This is a surprise. I think that while editing a filename Return should always just complete the edit and no more (whatever the setting of the Return key action).

Ah, just happened again, so I will email you the data you requested, and more...

Sorry for sticking my nose in here, but I don't understand the problem (obviously!).

I can copy a folder called "A,B" containing a file called "c,d.txt" from Mac to remote server. Isn't this what we are talking about?  Apologies for my ignorance, but I am interested to see where I'm misreading the post.
7  Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Re: Colour labelling of files/folders? on: October 17, 2006, 07:09:25 AM
I feel guilty asking, but is this coming along?     Grin

(I was just hoping it might have made it to the new 1.5.2 beta as well as my other request.)
Cheers

Works wonderfully, I certainly got 'action'.  I am in keyboard heaven!  Good idea to retain Enter with the default rename function.

Good design all round. Congratulations.

Can I suggest other users try setting "Return key action" to "Edit selection / Enter single folder" in the preferences, and see how much easier it is to navigate and open files -- once you get used to the idea, that is. I suppose it won't be for everyone but worth a try.
9  Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Re: Bookmark not opening on: October 16, 2006, 06:28:02 AM
OK, it may not happen for a few days, but I might try opening and closing connections a few times to see if I can hurry things along.

Sometimes when I double-click on a bookmark nothing happens at all. This has happened three times that I remember. I am pretty sure that in all three cases I had recently had the associated connection open and then closed it. Yummy perhaps thinks that it is still open.

Restarting Yummy fixes the problem straightaway.

Superb!  Can't wait to try it, as I still often hit Return to open or edit.  Thought this idea may have got lost in all these off-topic posts!

Thanks again.

What a hero!   Cheesy

Will there be a beta-14 for us to try?

Another related point may be worth changing. When a file is renamed, after pressing Return the filename reverts to the original for a while, as if Yummy didn't know you just changed it. Then of course a refresh from the server gets it right, but this is a little disconcerting.

Better to change the display to the new name and then still refresh to make sure all is well.  Thanks.

Ah! Problem solved. Smileys are back. It was Firefox: About a week ago I (yes, my fault!) had turned on "Load images, for the originating website only" in order to cut down on advertising content. I see that the smileys come from www.yummyftp.com rather than www.yummysoftware.com, hence the non-load.

Thanks anyway. Sorry about the off-topic. Cheers.

Yes, that's true. Thanks.

Still no smileys. Is it my settings? I can't see any settings that are relevant, except that below under "additional options" as I write this: but the "don't use smileys" is not selected.
