Locked files and folders in Yummy 1.7.2
« on: March 18, 2009, 12:54:42 PM »

I am a member of a large web design team and am responsible for many web sites. I bought Yummy because I just loved the way it worked when I tried out the trial version. After I installed the purchased version and serial number I noticed all of the files and folders on all of the servers I work on had little locks on them. Wow, that's weird as I'm the owner on some of those files. To make matters worse, I couldn't make changes to any of those files or folders.
I read through this forum and discovered that this was a problem with version 1.5 of Yummy, I'm using 1.7.2 but what the heck. I tried unchecking "Numeric Permissions, Owner/Group" and that didn't have any effect so I unchecked "Icons reflect permissions" and that did work. This is mostly an FYI since I seem to have solved my problem. Thank you so much for making this forum available.  Smiley

Thank you for reporting the problem and resolution Smiley

It was already a known issue that the option 'Icons reflect permissions' could display incorrect icons in some cases, but actually this option is purely for display purposes and has absolutely no effect on your ability to do anything your server - that is controlled entirely at  the server end.

Logically I completely agree, it shouldn't have any effect other than cosmetic. Be that as it may, I was unable to make any changes until I unchecked "Icons reflect permissions". Nothing else changed.
