sftp crashes
« on: September 13, 2006, 08:59:57 AM »

i'm using yummy 1.5.1(registered) with mac os x 10.4.7 PPC...

i'm having problems connecting to some sftp hosts
the file listing takes forever, the text in the buffer window is garbled in chinese characters
and it ends up crashing.

the server i'm having the problem has openssh-server-3.6.1p2-18

seems to work fine with other servers...

i also tried connecting to this server with interarchy, transmit, fugu and terminal... all work fine

any clues? i can send you a screenshot...

thank you

Yes, please send a screenshot via email to me. Also, is there any chance I can make a test connection? If so, I'll be able to fix the problem very quickly, I'm sure - please send me the connection details if this is ok: support at yummysoftware dot com

To follow up for those reading, cdeath sent me a screenshot. It looks like Yummy is receiving garbled listing data from the server - I don't know why this is but it appears to be directly related to version 3.6.1p2-18 of OpenSSH. This ties in with the fact that I have never had a report like this before, so it must be a very rare case. cdeath is attempting to obtain a test account for me to have a look.

This problem turned out to be an incorrect setting of the text Encoding in cdeath's Bookmark. Once corrected, the problems disappeared.
