I recently moved to an office with satellite Internet, and the ftp client in Dreamweaver takes hours to sync my website. The site is a few thousand pages and growing. I am ready to move all my ftp work over to Yummy FTP, and have a couple of questions.
1. Dreamweaver has a cloak feature, where I can choose to not sync remote files, such as my e-store, forum, webmail, etc. with my local files. Can I do something similar with Yummy?
2. Is Yummy fast on satellite connections? DW takes about 1 second per page to scan for updates and about 20 seconds to log on. Ouch.
3. Any tips on keep tracking of files? I have a lot of html files, and develolp and post content from three different computers.
4. Is there a "scheduling" feature, where I can automatically sync my remote host, with the develolpemt computers every day, or week?
Thanks for having a helpful forum. FB

1. The Filters feature allows you to specify items to include/exclude during transfers and/or synchronizations. Click the Filters toolbar icon, or select Filters from the Listing menu. Note that there are separate filters for the Mac side and Server side.
2. Yummy is faster than other FTP clients when it transfers files because it uses several simultaneous connections (ie several files are transferred at once) but I doubt you'll see any difference in speed while simply logging on. I'm not sure what you mean by 'scanning for updates' - you mean prior to doing a sync? If so, I imagine it will be roughly the same. At the end of the day, the speed limiting factor is your satellite connection.
3. Not really - I'm not a web developer myself. Maybe you need a central version control server?
4. Yummy's synchronize feature has a schedule facility which allows you to automatically sync whenever you want. Yummy has to be left running for that to happen, though. Look for the Schedule button in the Synchronize setup window.
