1.9.2 is forcing 2010 MacBookPro to use discrete GPU...

Hi,
I'm thinking about to buy yummy ftp, so I tried the demo, all works great, but when connecting to a remote machine yummy ftp is forcing my MBP Mid 2010 to use the discrete GPU all the time!
Would be much better for the battery life to use the integrated one.
can be checked when running gfxcardstatus
see this apple kb doc on how to handle this:
https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/qa/qa1734/_index.html
If this will be resolved, I would buy yummy FTP.
regards
let me know, if I can help!

You're welcome
I must admit, I've been trying to reproduce without success, so please let me know when you discover it again.

thanks, finally found what is exactly triggering the switch:
when editing or creating a new connection and the dialog to search for the ssh key opens is triggering the switch.

Ah, that window is wholly owned and controlled by the OS itself
I'll see what I can do.
Thanks for the follow up!

Ok, I've made the change documented in the link you provided. It will be included in the next build which will be released as a beta version initially.
In the meantime, so long as you don't use the File Save/Open windows that the OS provides then the problem will not occur. Thankfully these are not required during normal use, so if need be, use them then quit and re-launch Yummy to undo their wrong-doing

thank you, that is great. If needed, I can test the version, before releasing.
your right, that is not needed in daily business, but good to hear, that it will be fixed.

seems that a few apps are forcing the discrete graphic card with the open file dialog.
for example: - sublime text2 is doing it too, but text wrangler not.
hope that helps.

Examining the latest versions of both Apps plist files show that the line:
<key>NSSupportsAutomaticGraphicsSwitching</key>
<true/>
… is already present.
Do you have the latest of each?

Sublime Text 3 also has the plist key…
I've added to the next update so let me know if it makes any difference, but I'm not sure this is having any effect on your Mac (MBP Mid 2010) anyway, because the tech note specifically states "Note: The NSSupportsAutomaticGraphicsSwitching key only works on the dual-GPU MacBook Pros that were shipped Early 2011 and after."
