Add a "Success" message
« on: November 08, 2006, 10:09:08 PM »

First things first, I love Yummy FTP!  On the mac, I've been using Cyberduck, and it has some pros and some cons, but  I like the layout of Yummy much better.  Plus, I've had some files that were only partially uploaded, even though Cyberduck claimed the upload was successful.  That's why I went hunting for a better FTP client in the first place.  Thankfully, I found Yummy and the very same files uploaded without problems with it.

One thing I really liked about Cyberduck was that it showed you a message after either failure or success.  Unless I'm missing something, I can't get Yummy to tell me the upload (or download) was successful.  It only shows a message with a failure.

I'm sure this might sound like a dumb request to some, but I upload huge files so I leave the computer working overnight or while I'm away for a few hours.  I'd like some feedback when I get back to the computer to see everything went well (or not).  If this is in the form of a log, fine, but I would like to see it in the main layout or in a message that pops up.  Make it an option in the preferences for those who will hate this idea.

Thanks,
Gary

Hey Gary! Welcome to the forum, and thanks for your kind comments Smiley

What you're looking for is Growl notifications: http://www.growl.info

Yummy FTP makes extensive use of Growl (if it's installed) and you can set Growl to have 'sticky' notifications, so when your transfer is complete (successfully or otherwise) a message will appear on your screen and stay there until you dismiss it.
