Question about logins in Yummy
« on: January 24, 2006, 09:28:29 AM »

I've been a Cyberduck user for quite some time now.  The latest version is driving me wonky, and the developer says that's the way it's *supposed* to work.

Every time I upload or download, it asks me to relog in.  I can't store the password in my keychain; I'm on a laptop, and if the laptop went astray, some unscrupulous person could entirely wipe out my boss's business if the passwords were stored on it rather than in my head.  Apparently the problem with Cyberduck would be solved if I could get it to stay connected to the server for more than 30 seconds at a time, but that doesn't seem to be possible.

Would Yummy do the same thing?  I don't have time to download every Mac client and try this.

Thanks.

That sounds slightly crazy to me...

In Yummy you can store passwords in your Keychain, or in your Bookmark, or not at all. It's up to you. In the latter case, you'll be asked for the password once while you bring up the FTP Browser window. After that, you can upload and download as many times as you want without being asked again. You'll only be asked for the password again if you close the FTP Browser window and the open it again.

So, to cut a long story short, the answer to your question is : Download Yummy Now! Smiley
