Refresh only refreshes the top directory
« on: April 22, 2006, 08:48:10 PM »

In the list view showing a folder's contents, Refresh only refreshes the top level. The folder contents are not refreshed. To refresh them one has to fold-away and then re-disclose the folder (and this requires "Use directory caching" off). Or double click on the folder to open it (then refresh if directory caching in on). Then return to the parent folder....

Could the Refresh command refresh all open or disclosed folders please?

Regards.

Like all operations in Yummy, Refresh is context sensitive. This means that if you select a sub folder and then select Refresh, then only that sub folder's contents are refreshed. You can select several sub folders to be refreshed at once, if required.

It might be useful to add an option where selecting Refresh when the Control key is down will refresh all open sub directories, but I wouldn't make this the default behavior.

Done!

I used the Alt key since Control-click on the Refresh icon in the Toolbar will open the Toolbar context menu.

Thanks that's great.

However, I didn't realise that you could select the folder and then refresh, that is an OK solution. So I am not sure that your new solution was needed, although it will be a quicker method.

I look forward to the next beta or release.

(BTW, In all your documentation -- and posts - you talk of the Alt key.   Shocked Macs have Option keys.)

Odd... on the Apple keyboard I'm using it's named Alt. I wonder why...

Cheap windows keyboard?  Grin

The equivalent "Mac"keyboard would cost twice as much?

Isn't this the windows forum?

Nope. It's an Apple Keyboard.

Perhaps they ran out of "Option" stickers for the keys on the day that it was manufactured. Or something ...

Apple has found the lost option-stickers and now as they have so much of them they put both on the new MacBook's.
