Mime Type errors??
« on: May 05, 2009, 11:13:54 PM »

I used Yummy FTP through development with a Wordpress site and the software worked perfectly. I've been getting an endless slew of Mime type errors lately, e.g.
"Resource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type text/html."
Does this have anything to do with Yummy?

I think the message indicates that a binary file was transferred as text? (any Wordpress gurus around?)

The only way that would happen is either:

1. You changed the Encoding to ASCII
2. You changed one or more Suffix Mapping entries to use ASCII when they should have been Binary

Do you have a specific example file?

Actually, I have none at the moment (they seem to come and go). I wonder if this could have to do with my bad intermittent connection - maybe files are getting corrupted when the bandwidth gets too low?
This isn't Wordpress, btw, but a new project with XHTML, javascript & PHP. I usually just leave the encoding setting on auto, is that alright?

Ok, so it's unlikely to be an actual encoding problem. The intermittent connection could be to blame, and there was a bug fix in resuming transfers made in 1.7.3 beta... so try the latest beta and see if that makes any difference:

If you still get a problem, please make a copy of the troublesome file (s) on the server, their local file originals, and send them to me via email:

Sorry to bring up an old discussion, but I am having the exact same issue on one of my sites now, and I can't seem to find much info about this in Google.

Some hints point to setting headers in htaccess or php, but I have tried that and it is not resolving the issue.

I don't think yummyftp is causing this, I'm just hoping for some insights in this issue.

The strange thing is, that sometimes when I rename the image on the server through yummyftp the error goes away. I'm not sure if that is significant, but I can't seem to find any info about this...

Any help is appreciated
