No, this isn't possible at the moment. Nice feature request, though! Smiley

TextMate works wonderfully well with Yummy FTP as a remote editor too. Just select it as your default editor from the menu in the Server Options panel of the Preferences.

Another possible solution is an 'Upload Only' FTP Watcher. This will monitor a folder for changes and upload changed/new files, however it does only work at the folder level at which it is placed, so it will not detect changes within sub-folders. FTP Watchers will not upload changes immediately, but they do check for changes about once a minute. A description of the use and configuration of an FTP Watcher can be found in the Quick Start - select 'Quick Start' from the Help menu in Yummy FTP to see this.

Finally, a synchronization scheduled to run perhaps once every minute, would do the job of an FTP Watcher but would cover the entire hierarchy of the folder on your Mac.This won't instantaneously upload changed/new files, however. Again, a description of how to configure this is available in the Quick Start.

Good suggestion! Thanks, Christian Smiley
4  Yummy Software / Announcements / Vacation - reduced support response time on: June 21, 2007, 08:18:03 AM
I will be taking a vacation abroad with my wife and kids for 2 weeks starting Saturday 23rd June.

Although I will check email and this forum regularly while I am away, my response time will be significantly reduced during this time.

Thank you for your understanding.

You'll need to add a Suffix Mapping entry for .css

1. Select 'Suffix Mapping' from the Transfer menu
2. Click Add
3. Enter:

Entry Name: CSS
Suffix: .css
Apply mapping for : Uploads & Downloads
Use as default editor: Enable this checkbox

All other settings can be left alone.

4. Click 'Choose App' then navigate to and choose CSSEdit
5. Click Save
6. Close Suffix Mapping window

Done!

(I have been meaning to make this easier for some time. I haven't forgotten - I will get around to it)

The first thing that comes to mind is remote editing. You can open file(s) for editing via Yummy FTP and the preferred text editor of your choice - when you save, they will be automatically uploaded. I recommend using TextWrangler for this, since it's free and integrates well with Yummy FTP:

http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/

So, to recap:

1. Select file(s) to edit in the Server listing of Yummy
2. Click the 'Edit' toolbar icon (it is the TextWrangler icon by default)
3. Click 'Save' as the option of when to upload the changed file(s)

Enable 'Include invisible files in transfers' checkbox in the Transfers panel of the Preferences
10  Yummy FTP / Yummy FTP Talk / Re: Upload any FILE MODIFIED in the last 5 minutes - Possible? on: June 17, 2007, 05:09:58 PM
Spacific is describing other methods that could be added to Yummy FTP to achieve what you want to do. None of the described functionality already exists.

Ok, I understand. I'll see what it would take to add a time filter option Smiley

I'd still like to see your transcript, though, just in case there's something out of order there.

Thanks, but the problem with these is that although these designers are very talented, they are also very expensive and very sought after. So, first I will need to wait for one to become available (assuming they will even consider taking on my app) and then I will need to make an appointment with my bank manager to arrange for the re-mortgage to pay for the icons  Grin

I have actually contacted a couple of these people before regarding icon design for Yummy. But I never even received a reply... I guess I am not worthy

The mini size option is a known limitation. These are custom buttons, hand built by me. For what it's worth, they look a lot better when you turn off the metal windows, which are largely out of favor these days and therefore no longer the default 'look' of Yummy. I do agree that the remaining icons are a different style, though.

All I need to do is find a good icon designer, who won't require me to re-mortgage my house for payment Wink

Does any one have any recommendations on that front?

Thanks for the feedback! Smiley

What is it about the buttons that bothers you? (I assume you are referring to the toolbar icons?)

It's unlikely I would add a feature such as you have suggested, but as it happens, I've been considering getting a complete re-design of all the icons by a professional designer - most of them are made by myself, you see.
