Hi JD. Thanks for the info. However, that link appears to be dead and I can't find anyplace else at the moment to try and download Growl. Any other ideas? Thanks Ken

Use the Growl notification system, which has an email capability, and with which Yummy FTP is fully compatible: http://www.growl.info

When you drag a file from the remote browser to the desktop, it gets transferred but appears on the desktop in the default position (at the right of the screen). It would be nice if it appeared at the position to which it was dragged. It is frustrating to drag a file to a visible region of the desktop only for it to get lost under several open windows. I presume this is easily fixed ( ) -- web browsers allow you to drag images to precise positions on the desktop, so it can certainly be done. Just a matter of setting certain Finder info. Thanks.

We are currently testing out Yummy FTP and so far really like it. We would like to know if there's a way within the program or via AppleScript to have an email notification sent out to concerned parties that a file transfer has completed. Any thoughts?
Thanks, Ken

Yummy doesn't find the matching directory for you. It is entirely up to you when you release the mouse, where the files will be sent - into the hilited sub-directrory or into the start directory It works in the same way as copying from one Finder window to another.

i just have downloaded yummyftp to test and play around a bit...
i work with list-view on both sides (local/remote), so i am able to do a fast switch between folders on both sides...
when i now drag a file from local to remote side, the file is copied/placed in the remote start folder unless you exactly move the mouse pointer over an exisiting file on the remote side. only in this case the matching directory is highlighted and the file is placed in this dir. if you release the mouse key just beside a filename the file is placed in the start folder. but: if you move the mouse into the next column (date/size) then the correct directory is highligted and the file is place is placed there.... (edit) i have to correct me, i tested it with "date-column". even there you have to place the mouse over any written text, only in this case yummy finds the matching directory
