FWIW, you can select a folder in the "local" pane, select a folder in the server pane and then hit to Synchronize button and these 2 folders will be synced. Even with the listings showing other folders... another used requested feature happily implemented by Our Guy!

Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Re: Dreamhost users - some great news!

Yes and no. The host provider should have their own daily back up that saves the entire drive for multiple customers. Typically, there is a sort of backup function that provides only for you inadvertantly deleting files on the server that you don't mirror locally.
However, the downside is that this "backup" also takes up part of you disk space allocation.
FWIW, I have an absolute local mirror of everything on my server AND that is also part of my local backup.

Ahhhh, I've seen a few of the newly remastered Trek eps on my HD TV, they look mahvelous, simply mahvelous!
Boy, you missed some really interesting days... a 400K floppy with the OS AND an app (MacWrite) that can store about 3 or 4 small documents! One splurged on the external 400k floppy drive for more serious document storage.

OS 7? How about one, tiny 400k floppy? Before they dared to breathe MEGABYTE, before there even WAS such a thing as a giga of anything! When RAM was measured in k, not m, and g was only whispered on Star Trek.
Seriously, my guess is 98% of Mac users know of Keychain holding user names and passwords from web experiences. I had to see how it worked before I realized Yummy only used the password.

Unfortunately at this point I only have one ftp site with a userid/password to fool with. Pretty sure I've always had the "store in keychain" enabled, so I followed your advice (well, I deleted the userename/password in the bookmark). Deleting them in the bookmark DID transfer the information into my keychain...
I had to fool around a bit to find out it's ONLY the password and not the userid (browsers pull both from the keychain absent a cookie); more explanation might be appropriate but it looks like the wiki is not open to third parties. A tad of explanation might be appropriate in the online help.

Oh, it turns even weirder than that! Based on the other thread, I now have the username in the bookmark and the password in the keychain. Performing the same action (launch and open site from the FTP Alias) and guess what? NOW I can rename a file.
Except, the FTP Alias still has the password embedded in it, so the keychain "thing" should have no effect.
Probably not a "server thing" as I was able to easily edit the file IF I connected via launch app, choose bookmark, so the best I can come up with is that clearly you built a software program with a droll sense of humor.

Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Keychain?

In another thread, I got to thinking more about the Keychain. Now that I'm a confirmed Keychain user, my wish is to keep a load of passwords in there. So from day one I selected the option in Yummy to "store passwords in keychain."
However, I was having an issue and was asked to check that my username/password for connecting to a protected ftp site were correct. It seems that both items were a part of the Yummy bookmark, but was NOT listed in my keychain.
So with the option selected in Yummy, will it keep username/password in both the bookmark AND the keychain? And if it's missing from the keychain (as it seems to be for me) it seems totally obscured in Yummy to the point where I can't see it in there.

Oh I'm lazy... wasn't exactly sure what moniker you use, so I called it an applet. Indeed, it's an FTP Alias.
If I had username or password incorrect in the FTP Alias, then it wouldn't work at all, right? Still I checked it, and the username is correct, and I can't see/know what password is in there (ha, I've waited to bug you about this... I still feel that I should have the ability to see what password I use in a bookmark). I even checked both the FTP Alias and the bookmark to see if anything was different... everything was the same (even though I can not see the password).

Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Connect w/applet Bug?

Think I've uncovered something... I have an applet to drop files on to transfer to my web site. But occasionally I just want to connect to it to transfer some files back to me (logs/stats). So I just double click the applet. Works fine.
So I u/l video I want a pal to see, but after it finishes I decide to change the filename, so I double click the applet, highlight the file and try and rename it. Won't let me (cites permission issues). Rinse and repeat, same thing. I then launch Yummy by itself and choose the bookmark to connect. NOW I can rename the file.
Seems both "methods" of connecting should function the same.
