Yummy Software / General / Re: help with uploading

How much do you know about preparing web sites?
Depending on the hosting company, a number of different named files may load by default. But generally, all of them support "index.htm" or "index.html."
The first ting to do is verify that you have FTP'd to the correct place... i.e. the correct "folder" on the server that is the root of your web space. When you use Yummy to go there, at the least there should be a index file that contains that default page you see when to use the URL for your domain. Another good way is to put a web graphic (any small jpeg will do) in that space and put a /<name of graphic> after your domain name.

Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Link?

Perhaps a link from the Forum top back to the general website?
It's not uncommon to be able to click on the "name" in the banner graphic... as in that graphic is also a link.

Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Progress Window
|
on: January 05, 2006, 10:35:47 AM

One very minor thing kinda annoys me... the progress window seems to always go to a default location; i.e. I can't set it to appear where I want it to. I need it to appear in my upper right hand corner... but it always seems to appear in the upper left area (where it is always buried under other windows... I tend to keep that upper right hand area clear for progress dialogs to go).
Unless I'm missing something...

Yummy FTP / Yummy FTP Talk / Re: Yummy FTP 'Lite'

Well, here is a radically different thoughts on a "lite" version. Make it doing "ftp aliases" only (upload drop box only).
I base this on a number of pals whose need for ftp is ONLY to transfer images to a central server (i.e. photo journalists). They have no interest on dealing with files on the server; matter of fact they couldn't do this with a full version either as the files get moved as soon as they complete the transfer to the server.
Yes I understand this is a very targeted thing, but I think there are quite a few folks out there who only need ftp to upload files.
