Beta Auto Updates
« on: December 04, 2007, 10:28:47 PM »

I saw that beta updates will no longer be pushed out through auto update. Would it be possible to have a checkbox, unchecked by default, that said include Beta's in update check, or something along those lines.

This isn't a big deal, just me being lazy and like you said you do a lot of updates  Grin

I have attached an image of how TextMate handles things.

Funny, I was going to "complain" about loosing the auto download for the betas... but a pref sounds like it may alleviate my "concern."

It's all finished and working right now in the latest build I am testing here.  The option to exclude betas is going to be On by default. It probably makes sense that the betas are only presented if the users knowingly opts in.

Well actually that's just because I have stopped releasing betas via that mechanism for now Smiley

The next update will include the new 'beta' option, so from then on you can choose whether or not to receive the beta notices. By default, betas will not show up - you have to make the choice with a setting in the Preferences.
