Ok. It's a long time since I looked at Tango... but it seemed nice looking at the time, compared to other Windows offerings.

No, .Mac only works with Apple's servers.

Well, .Mac offers special services for such things which makes the whole experience much slicker. Making a similar, but general purpose feature, could be useful too, although it would likely not be as seamless.
185  Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Re: I want Return = action! on: May 23, 2006, 10:57:17 AM
Yes, it seems redundant to have both Return and Enter doing the same thing, so I'll likely add an option to map one or the other as the 'action' key. It's likely that I'll use the Enter key for that.

I don't think there is any agreed standard for Cmd-E ... it just makes sense because Editing starts with E Smiley

I can't recommend any Window FTP clients - sorry! Although, one that sticks in my mind as being rather Mac-like is Tango FTP from Etonica, but I don't think that it has any remote editing capabilities.

Yes, I had something like that in mind, too.
187  Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Re: Folder Size? on: May 22, 2006, 07:34:30 PM
You're missing something... Wink

A Calculate Size option is available from the File menu, and from the Contextual menu.

I'm very glad to hear it!

And as it happens, I'm preparing the 1.5 final release right now  Grin
189  Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Re: I cannot change the permissions for my files... on: May 21, 2006, 04:21:42 PM
I think that what the server is really telling you is that you don't have the right to set the permissions you've chosen on the selected file(s).

This might be simply because you aren't allowed to, due to your account restrictions, or you're trying to set permissions at a higher level than your own, which is never allowed.

I can't really be sure what's happening without seeing an FTP Transcript (File menu -> Save FTP Transcript option) of this problem occurring - If you continue to have difficulties, please contact me via email and send me the Transcript: support at yummysoftware dot com
190  Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Re: Icons... on: May 19, 2006, 01:12:50 PM
The icons are meant to represent the access permissions that you have. However, it's not guaranteed to be 100% accurate simply because the FTP protocol doesn't provide all the information required to do so. Yummy makes a 'best guess' given the permissions and user/group information provided by the directory listing and also your login name.

That said, I'll check this out and see if I can find any mistakes Smiley

I'll see what I can come up with Wink
192  Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Re: Bookmarks suggestion on: May 18, 2006, 05:54:36 AM
Actually, the Bookmarks menu lists the Bookmarks alphabetically and the first 10 entries get a CMD-N key associated with them automatically.

One way to order the list is to add space characters to the front of the Bookmark names, forcing them to be sorted higher alphabetically.

However, I've had it requested in the past that the CMD key could be manually assigned to each Bookmark. I guess I should add this ... but since I'm nearly ready to release the next update, I'll have to delay doing this until the next one.
193  Yummy FTP / Yummy FTP Talk / Re: Yummy FTP 'Lite' on: May 16, 2006, 05:33:12 AM
The next major update of Yummy FTP is imminent and won't include a Lite option. But don't think I've forgotten about it... I haven't Wink
