Good bug find! The feature to check for duplicate edits is only in the beta version you're using, however I'll look into this and fix it for the next beta build. Thanks!
213  Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Re: Refresh only refreshes the top directory on: April 23, 2006, 04:08:11 AM
Like all operations in Yummy, Refresh is context sensitive. This means that if you select a sub folder and then select Refresh, then only that sub folder's contents are refreshed. You can select several sub folders to be refreshed at once, if required.

It might be useful to add an option where selecting Refresh when the Control key is down will refresh all open sub directories, but I wouldn't make this the default behavior.

I'm looking into it Wink

You should be able to double click them in Yummy FTP also.

Are the links appearing as folder alias icons? (a folder with a small north-west-pointing arrow at the bottom left)

If not then it might be that the server isn't reporting the link resolution correctly when Yummy tries to resolve them, and so Yummy assumes they are files, based on the server response. You can avoid this problem by disabling the 'Resolve symlinks' checkbox in the Server Options tab of the Preferences.

Let me know how you go.

You're welcome Grin

In each Bookmark there is an option to connect automatically at startup, which I assume has been enabled in the Bookmark to the G5 that is configured on your iBook. You need to do the same with the G5 Bookmark(s).

1) Select Show All Bookmarks from the Bookmarks menu
2) Select the Bookmark to edit
3) Click the Edit toolbar icon
4) Select the Advanced Options tab
5) Enable the 'Auto-connect at startup' checkbox
6) Click the Save button

You'll have to describe exactly what goes wrong in order for me to suggest anything. Sorry!
220  Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Re: This file appears to have been updated since your last upload. Replace? on: April 13, 2006, 01:54:38 PM
I mailed you the link a couple of mins after I posted - sorry I wasn't quick enough

Thanks!
221  Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Re: color code windows on: April 13, 2006, 01:51:19 PM
Color coding might be an option, but I can't say that the idea appeals to me from an aesthetic point of view.

What is the problem you're having exactly? I'd like to understand so that I can perhaps offer a better solution.

I assume, of course, that you realise each Bookmark can be renamed to whatever you please, and that the Bookmark name is displayed in the FTP Browser window title.

222  Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Re: This file is already being edited remotely on: April 13, 2006, 01:12:33 PM
I believe this was a bug in the old beta you're using which has since been fixed. I've emailed you a link for beta 34 Smiley

This is a new feature from the beta I sent you quite a while ago, and it's meant to protect you from overwriting someone else's edits by mistake. It can be disabled via a new option in the Remote Editing section of the Preferences.

However, what you've found is a bug in it that has since been fixed Smiley

I've emailed you a download link for the latest beta, and taken the liberty of adding your email address to the beta testers list so that you'll get notified automatically when any newer betas are released. I hope that's ok.

Thanks!

224  Yummy Software / General / Re: How to start up Yummy FTP? on: April 13, 2006, 08:48:01 AM
It sounds like your web hoster hasn't given you very clear instructions...

Basically, your domain name will be your server address. So for example, if your domain is www.cw.com you'd normally enter ftp.cw.com

For the username and password, these are either supplied by your web hoster, or created by yourself when you make an FTP account on your server. The latter would be done via a website interface provided by your web hoster.

I also suggest looking at the FAQ, where the first entry is "How do I get started?"

Good luck!

225  Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Re: following aliases (symbolic links) on: April 12, 2006, 06:26:39 PM
Hi suzerain.

I do understand your setup - it makes a lot of sense to re-use the base objects of the web sites.

I'll have to think about this one. I have avoided any fake data generation for the sake of reliability and accuracy, but I understand how this needs to work, so I could implement a preference setting to allow this.

If you have any doubts about jumping ship, let me know and I'll send you the latest beta build of the upcoming new version I am preparing - I hope it will convince you Wink
