Quite simply, the current release of Yummy FTP does not support FTPS SSL/TLS. But the latest beta version does! Let me know if you'd like to try it by sending me an email to : support at yumysoftware dot com

Yummy Software / General / Re: Server contents 'dissappear' after disconnecting ... how?
|
on: March 26, 2006, 12:42:50 PM
|
Hi ptfigg, thanks No, the contents remain - it's not an option. This enables you to use the shown items immediately, without having to reconnect manually first, because as soon as you do something Yummy FTP will automatically reconnect for you. Why are you monitoring connections? If you're making a transfer with Yummy and the connection is dropped, Yummy will automatically reconnect and resume from where it left off... -Jason

Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Re: Error message when opening yummy and connecting to server:

You should check your Bookmark settings and change the Mac default Home folder to a valid location on your Mac. What's happened is that the location you set for your default Mac folder when you connect has been moved or renamed and so it can no longer be found.
To correct this, do the following:
1) Select Show All Bookmarks from the Bookmarks menu 2) Select your Bookmark from the list shown 3) Click the Edit toolbar icon 4) Select the Advanced Options tab 5) Click the Select button and then choose a folder of your preference 6) Ensure 'Use setting from preferences' checkbox is not checked 7) Click the Save button
Now when you connect to your server again, the folder you chose will be shown in the Mac listing and the error message will no longer appear.
You may need to modify the Default Home Folder setting in the Interface tab of the Preferences similarly, if you've been trying to fix this problem without any luck.
Let me know how you get on.

Yummy FTP / Yummy FTP Talk / Re: Can you throttle the upload?
|
on: March 24, 2006, 03:35:18 PM
|
If you're using your Internet connection for other things at the same time, for example in an office environment where others are using the Internet to do their jobs, then having an FTP transfer use up all the available Internet connection bandwidth means that the Internet will slow to a crawl for others, making it almost unusable. Yummy FTP is particularly good at using up all the bandwidth, which is normally a good thing , but a bandwidth throttle on Yummy FTP would control the amount of bandwidth that could be used for FTP transfers, thus eliminating the problem.

Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Re: Schedules not uploading to correct directory

Currently, once you set up scheduled sync, the parameters for the sync itself cannot be modified, although the schedule periods can. This is something I'll be addressing in the next update of Yummy FTP.
For the problem with files going to the root directory, I did fix a bug like this already in a later build. It would only happen if your server dropped the connection during a synchronize, however, and even then it was intermittent.
Since you emailed me at the support address, I have already provided you with the latest beta version of Yummy FTP which resolves the upload error. If anyone else has this problem, please do get in contact: support at yummysoftware dot com

Thank you for the transcript - with this evidence I am almost certain I know what the problem is. The 'waking' Yummy phenomenon certainly is a complete red herring.
Two things you can try to resolve this problem:
1) Enable the checkbox named 'Validate suspect file datestamps' in the Server options tab of the Preferences. 2) Although I am fairly confident that it will, if option 1 does not fix the problem, contact me via email to obtain the latest build of Yummy FTP. support at yummysoftware dot com
Thanks for being so patient!

Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Re: "Maintain modification dates of transferred files" not working?
|
on: March 20, 2006, 05:45:49 PM

Thanks for purchasing! Just to confuse matters further, although the issue I fixed in the beta wasn't the issue you were seeing, the beta you downloaded actually does have a new feature to ... ahem ... set the server dates to match the *real* modification dates!! Look at the 'Use MDTM to set server dates' checkbox in the Advanced Options tab of the Bookmark editor window. Not all servers support this feature, so this is why it is an option and off by default. Let's hope it works on your server -Jason

Thanks for doing those tests, Pat! You're right, the transcript will contain extra output when the diagnostics mode is enabled. It writes out the decisions that the syncrhonization engine made as to why a file should or should not be transferred, quoting the date, time and size of each. So, it's quite useful You're mostly right about the Clock icon - it doesn't let you adjust the Synchronization properties, but only the schedule. However, you can have several differently scheduled synchronizations and/or transfers present in the queue drawer and still re-configure the schedule of each of them individually. I'll see if I can address the issue of adjustments to the Sync itself in an update, though, since this is certainly a deficiency. I look forward to your results. -Jason
