Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Re: folder location memory

Sounds like a nice idea. Your message implies that only the local folder should be remembered. Do you think the remote folder should be remembered as well, or should there be options to remember each separately? (ie local only, remote only or both)

Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Re: Save Password Preference Not Working
|

I've solved the problem with Mojo's keychain via email support. The problem was that when he saved his Bookmark originally, the 'Use keychain' option was disabled and so his password was stored in the Bookmark file itself. This meant that making a connection using the New Connection window could not access the password. By editing his Bookmark and saving it again when the 'Use keychain' option was enabled, it forced the password to be removed from the Bookmark and placed into the Keychain. Now the New Connection window and the Bookmark can both access the password by using the Keychain.
In the 1.1.6 version of Yummy FTP that is to be released shortly, the 'Use keychain' option will be enabled by default, which will avoid this confusion in the future.

Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Re: Save Password Preference Not Working

First I have heard of such a problem. My initial suggestion would be that the Keychain entry is incorrect / doesn't match the host, or is inaccessible by Yummy FTP, so please check that. Other than that, I suggest to send screenshots of your Bookmark editor window (both tabs, please) to the support email address for me to check, or alternatively send me your Bookmark file. I'll also need to have the exact text of the 'Where' field in the Info window for the Keychain entry in the Keychain Access application. This way, I'll be able to tell you what is happening.
Thanks, Jason

Yummy Software / General / Re: Schedule Synchronize
|

No, you misunderstand. There are many ways to achieve this, but Yummy can do what you want quite simply: 1. Launch Yummy 2. Connect to your server 3. Set up your Sync & Schedule it to run every 12 hours, then click the Run Schedule button Now the Sync will occur once every 12 hours and if Yummy needs to re-connect to the server it will do so automatically. Obviously the synching will stop if you quit Yummy, so don't do that If you like, you can option-click on the Desktop to hide Yummy, or just move the FTP Browser window out of the way. If you do the thing with the connect at startup that I described previously, then you can switch off your Mac at any time, and when you switch it back on, Yummy will start syncing again automatically.

Currently you need to open a connection to your server, configure the Sync as you want it, set your Schedule, then leave Yummy running - the Sync will execute according to the Schedule you have set.
Note that the Scheduled Sync is saved into the Bookmark for your server, so each time you make a connection using that Bookmark, the Scheduled Sync will appear in the Queue drawer awaiting execution. This will occur even if you quit Yummy and launch it again later, and Yummy will remember when it last executed the Sync, so don't worry about the Schedule being forgotten.
One way to automate this (as some users have already done) is to set Yummy to be launched automatically at your Mac startup time (look in System Preferences -> Accounts for this option) and edit your Bookmark which has a Scheduled Sync so that it connects automatically when Yummy is launched - Look in the Advanced Options tab of the Bookmark editor window for the 'Auto-connect at startup' checkbox.
In the future I'd like to refine all this to create Scheduled Bookmarks, or something similar.
Hope that helps!

Yummy FTP / Yummy FTP Talk / Re: Question about logins in Yummy
|

That sounds slightly crazy to me... In Yummy you can store passwords in your Keychain, or in your Bookmark, or not at all. It's up to you. In the latter case, you'll be asked for the password once while you bring up the FTP Browser window. After that, you can upload and download as many times as you want without being asked again. You'll only be asked for the password again if you close the FTP Browser window and the open it again. So, to cut a long story short, the answer to your question is : Download Yummy Now!

Why on earth would I want to trick you? Obviously this is some kind of error. I'm surprised, because I have never heard of anybody's trial being cut short like this. The only other possibility is that you've tried the trial before - Yummy will remember that. Please contact me via email support so that I can get to the bottom of this.

Please note that the modification date issue is now SOLVED: tu11ym0n has found a bug that only shows up when downloading files to a mounted AppleShare volume, rather than to a hard drive in your Mac. This has now been corrected and the fix will be included in the 1.1.6 update.

Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Re: "Maintain modification dates of transferred files" not working?

Since I'm already dealing with your modification date issue via email support, I'll post the result of my suggested fix here when you have confirmed it. If I am correct, the solution is to enable the 'Validate suspect file datestamps' checkbox in the Server Options tab of the Preferences. This is a known issue and is fixed already in a new build which will be released shortly.
(I have also posted this as part of my reply in your Feedback suggestion, for everyone else reading)

Thanks for giving Yummy a try, and welcome! The Bookmarks in a side drawer is already being worked on. I hope to include it in the update after next. The disconnect functionality is indeed different to Transmit as you noted, in that once you disconnect you are presented with input boxes to make a new connection. With Yummy, you can leave the server as-is until you need it - then it will automatically reconnect. So, for example, you could drag files to a folder in the server listing while it is disconnected and Yummy will re-connect and then upload to that folder. Thanks for the wonderful compliments! I'm working hard to provide everything I can -Jason
